Manchester United vs Malaysia XI (Asia Tour 2009)

20 July 2009

I think my pictures will speak forth a thousand words for the atmosphere at Bukit Jalil National Stadium last Saturday. Words can’t express how ecstatic I was when I joined in the sea of red (read: Manchester United theme color for most jerseys).

The match between Manchester United vs Malaysia XI was simply

I won’t say much for my pictures will speak boldly to you. Enjoy the pictures!

I can’t believe there are so many MAN UTD supporters out there. My eyes almost popped out when I entered the stadium!

The amazing sea of red! And I was one of the 40,000 crazy supporters who joined in the madness of the stadium!

In searing heat, the Red devils were given a good workout by their enthusiastic and energetic opponents who were only five minutes away from a famous result.

All thanks to Michael Owen’s debut winning goal!

I just could not stop laughing at the way they lifted up their butts and legs! (*giggling away*)

It was a good match between Malaysia XI and Manchester United.

Michael Owen secured a 3-2 victory for the Reds in their opening Asia Tour match, coming off the bench to fire the winner on his debut against a hard-working Malaysian XI. Good job, Malaysian team!

Just a note, all pictures were taken by me with my 2 year old-worthy digital camera – Canon Ixus 860IS.  I still love my camera even though it is not a DSLR.

Manchester United – Euro Champions 2008!!

22 May 2008

“Glory, Glory, Man United. As the Reds go marching on….”

Manchester United are Champions of Europe for the third time after beating Chelsea in dramatic fashion… 6-5 on penalties.

You cannot believe this.

The Luzhniki Stadium prepares to welcome two English teams for the first time in Champions League final history.

Edwin van der Sar was the hero as United were crowned champions of Europe for the third time after a dramatic penalty shoot-out victory over Chelsea at the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow.

It was definitely a dramatic and tiring match for each player on the Moscow pitch.

Bleeding Scholes trying to get up on its feet

Manchester United were temporarily down to ten men whilst Paul Scholes received treatment for a bloodied nose after a clash with Claude Makelele – for which both players were booked with a yellow card each. Thankfully Scholes was back in time to play his part in the opening goal.

A goal opener from Cristiano Ronaldo

It was definitely a neat play between Scholes and Wes Brown after a throw-in on the right flank gave Brown time to pick out a cross for Ronaldo who expertly directed his header past Petr Cech – his 42nd goal of a staggering season. Can you believe it? 42 goals for 2007/2008!!!

A red card for Drogba

I definitely didn’t expect this to happen.
Didier Drogba was sent off for a petulant slap on Nemanja Vidic at the end of extra-time.

Why must you slap Vidic, Drogba? Why?

Van De Sar – Hero of the Day

Eventually, the game headed for penalties. There Manchester United were to have their glory but not before Ronaldo had his penalty saved by Petr Cech, to give Chelsea a brief advantage.

When Terry squandered his opportunity to win it for the Blues, Anderson scored to level for United – then Kalou and Giggs both netted before Anelka stepped up for the final decisive spot-kick, saved superbly by Edwin van der Sar.

Edwin van der Sar’s penalty shoot-out save from Nicolas Anelka handed United only their third ever European Cup and ensured the Reds finished the season as double winners.

United Euro Champs
True champions of soccer – Manchester United

It is definitely a jubilant year for Manchester United as they celebrate a double for 2008. Champions of England and Champions of Europe!

Well done, Manchester United! Glory, Glory, Manchester United.

I declare that I am proud to be a Manchester United fan. Always and Forever.

Manchester United are EPL Champions AGAIN!

12 May 2008

“Glory, Glory Man United. Glory, glory Man United. Glory, glory Man United. As we go marching on”

(First of all, these pictures are taken off from Manchester United’s official website.)

Ryangiggs

I cannot describe how ecstatic I am feeling right now.

I watched the game where Manchester United beat Wigan 2-0 at the JJB Stadium for the 17th English championship title. It was the 10th triumph of English Premier League (EPL) for both Sir Alex Ferguson as well as skipper Ryan Giggs.

Man Utd

Manchester United must be in seventh heaven right now. The ultimate joy of lifting the Barclays trophy put a smile on my face as I see the players celebrating victoriously.

You should see this as I didn’t see much of the celebration in ESPN just now. Thanks to YouTube.

Now, Manchester United, go get a double from Champions League Finals in Moscow!

Let’s give a big blow to Chelsea!!!

“We are Champions, Say we are the Champions!!”

Yes, Grace is a fanatic fan of Manchester United ever since 1997. Faithful and loyal to Man U ever since at the mild age of 13. Tonight will be the night… FA CUP FINALS at 10pm (M’sian time). Guess what? I will be watching with Kevin in Starbaker later since he is also a supported of Man U. Hehehe…

Sorry David, I know you’re not a fan and that’s why we have to put you back in your HA Block after dinner. What to do? You’re not a football maniac like us. Hehehe… if not, you could join us and scream and have some twisties with us later.

Cut the crap, I can’t wait for the match. It’s been such a long time ever since I followed Man Utd play as I was quite disappointed with Man U in this EPL season. Never mind. I shall see how they perform this time. Don’t let me down again, please Man U!!
