Manchester United vs Malaysia XI (Asia Tour 2009)

20 July 2009

I think my pictures will speak forth a thousand words for the atmosphere at Bukit Jalil National Stadium last Saturday. Words can’t express how ecstatic I was when I joined in the sea of red (read: Manchester United theme color for most jerseys).

The match between Manchester United vs Malaysia XI was simply

I won’t say much for my pictures will speak boldly to you. Enjoy the pictures!

I can’t believe there are so many MAN UTD supporters out there. My eyes almost popped out when I entered the stadium!

The amazing sea of red! And I was one of the 40,000 crazy supporters who joined in the madness of the stadium!

That is NOT my camera. It belongs to Kevin.

This poor boy gets boo-ed all the time because he is in Chelsea jersey.

In searing heat, the Red devils were given a good workout by their enthusiastic and energetic opponents who were only five minutes away from a famous result.

All thanks to Michael Owen’s debut winning goal!

I just could not stop laughing at the way they lifted up their butts and legs! (*giggling away*)

It was a good match between Malaysia XI and Manchester United.

Michael Owen secured a 3-2 victory for the Reds in their opening Asia Tour match, coming off the bench to fire the winner on his debut against a hard-working Malaysian XI. Good job, Malaysian team!

Just a note, all pictures were taken by me with my 2 year old-worthy digital camera – Canon Ixus 860IS.  I still love my camera even though it is not a DSLR.

Philosopher Grace (Part 2)

13 July 2009

Yes, yes. I have not been blogging regularly but I have been more philosophical lately. Writing a lot of “crap” on my Facebook Status updates to motivate myself. I must apologize for my now-you-see-now-you-don’t mode.

FB Philosophies

Out of the many status poetry I created recently, I just tend to ponder on one. It goes like this:

It is never too late to regret over things that you have yet to do, as long as you realize you still hold the key to the chance, just make it happen. Do remember when the opportunity fades away, you may never have that chance again.

Candle in the dark

Life may seem uncanny to us but it depends on how we look at it. Sometimes we may feel so crushed, so low, thinking that the candle in us may have stopped burning and abandoned us in the dark.

It is definitely understandable to hide in the dark for a while. Some how when we have rested well, do let the candle burn again. Ignite more passion and love as the candle burns brighter in us.

Working in Kota Kinabalu

7 July 2009

I was working in Kota Kinabalu earlier this month and didn’t have a chance for a proper sightseeing tour around the city as I was tied up with work from 8 – 6 throughout the visit there.

As soon as lunch break came about, I quickly excused myself from the event just to treat myself to a sneak peak around Sutera Harbour resort where the medical congress was held.

Sabah

Sabah

How I wished I could just have a quick dip into the pool!

Sabah

The room rates in Sutera Harbour are extremely expensive (approx. MYR 460++ per night) and that is why I didn’t have the chance to stay there.  Darn.

Sabah

Sabah

Isn’t it relaxing to face the sea and forget about everything else?

Sabah

By now you all should know that I absolutely adore life by the seaside.

Sabah

Darn, why doesn’t KL have any quality beaches within driving distances?

Sabah

How I wished that my lunch break would never end so I could embrace the gentle breeze and soothing sounds of the waves endlessly.

Sabah

Hmmmm I don’t want to work! Can I?

Just kidding, boss. I was just enjoying my lunch break.

Port View KK

In the evening, I was brought by my colleagues to Port View Seafood Village for dinner.

Prawns

IMHO, dinner in Port View was nothing to shout about. But, my favourite dishes were the prawns and stir-fried black pepper ostrich.

Kadazan Dance

However, I must applaud Port View for the entertaining Kadazan dance on the stage. Tourists, be it local or foreign, were trully enthralled by the wonderful performance.

Me and Kadazan

And the performers even invite you for a picture or two.

Oh well, at least this working trip allowed me to have a memorable shot!

Kuching’s Kolo Mee

4 July 2009

Kuching Kolo Mee

I have finally tried Sarawak’s Kolo Mee. This Kolo Mee is found in Sin Lian Shin Coffee Shop, Green Road in Meow-Land.

I had no idea which stall offered the best Kolo Mee in town, but thank goodness Kenny Sia reaffirmed me that Sin Lian Shin’s Kolo Mee is quite good.

To me, it is similiar with West Malaysia’s combination of Wanton Mee + Hakka Mee. But it’s good. I love it.

Will be back to Kuching for more.
