Ipoh Hor Hee
16 January 2008
Once again, I’ve traveled back to Ipoh for a one-day trip due to grandma’s birthday dinner on Sunday night. Because of that, I’ve itched for some Ipoh cravings and we decided to drive to Canning Garden on the blardy hot afternoon.

This couple works everyday without fail. On weekdays & Saturdays, they will open the stall opposite ACS at Lahat Road.
On Sundays, they will be here at Hollywood Coffee shop, Canning Garden.

This is the yummylicious Hor Hee (Fishball & Fishcake noodles) from Ipoh.
Hmmmm, are you hungry now???

Canning Gardens….. sounds like the place my grandparents used to live in or I’m wrong on that one. Either way not sure if my dad remembers this place since he’s also an ACS graduate.

jon : hmm, i dont think that the hor hee has been around for that long dating back to our parents time.
sha : the usual fishball noodles in KL totally lacks taste and the hor fun in KL is rather coarse. you should try hor fun in Ipoh as the texture of the noodles are much more refined (apparently due to the usage of mountain water) and this particular hor hee is on the salty side. the brown fishpaste thingy is very salty and that adds taste to the overall makan exp.
