Have you ever been to William’s Corner?

Oh, the first time I stepped into this old attap corner with Timothy, I was thinking it was just another ordinary mamak stall that serves Roti Canai or Nasi Lemak Ayam Goreng with Teh Ais Limau.

William's Corner
The crowd in William’s Corner

William’s Corner is located near the Old Lim Kok Wing’s college in PJ where you could see many youngsters flooding up this place every night. I bet if you get to see William there, you will definitely say “Wow, He’s a freaking fat man with a fat bank account definitely!” Of course, he is! He is able to seduce you with the variety of unique delicacies which you can’t find in an ordinary mamak stall!

Triple Hatch
It’s known as Triple Hedge or Hatch or Age.

I just can’t hear the workers pronounce it correctly. Hatch or Age or Hedge. Do you guys know about the name of this dish? Anyway, this is one of the well-known dishes from William’s. Wrapped with eggs and cheese, the toast is filled with hams and beef/chicken to make you drool.

Chicken Chop
Chicken Chop in William’s Style @ RM12

The mashed potato is as big as the chicken chop!!! The chicken meat is really big. Serious. It took Isaac Leong some time to whack the whole piece!

Cheezy Chicken
Sorry, i can’t remember the name of the dish… Let’s name it Cheezy Chicken?

Anyway, the cheese is so awesome that it melts right into your intestines!!! Mamamiya!

Nasi Goreng Ketam
Nasi Goreng Ketam which costs RM15

This is simply my favourite of the lot. Look at the soft shell crabs and the Big shrimps fried with the tom-yam flavoured fried rice.

The portions served in William’s are huge! Girls will have to share if you’re not a massive eater like men. Even the drinks like Ribena Longan is gigantic. (Click here to my previous entry on Ribena Lychee in Xanga)

Here I go again, blogging about Food. Yes, I mentioned it before, we should LIVE to Eat, not eat to live! We as Malaysians are simply blessed with food, so why waste resources?

Just whack the Food!!

As long as it’s about the F word, I am happy!

Korean Delight

8 October 2007

6th of October marked our 29th month anniversary together. Who’s anniversary? Yes, both Kevin and I has been together for 29 months. Not too short, not too long, but a substantial amount of time I would say. It’s just a bond that made us closer each day. Because of that, we have promised each other to celebrate every 6th of the month, with a meal costing at about a decent RM100 for two.

Korean Chinese Restaurant which offers sumptuous dinner if you opt for Korean cuisine.

We celebrated at a Korean restaurant this time. This restaurant is located at Ampang and it was our 2nd time visiting the same restaurant together. The last time we visited was back in 2006 on my birthday.

Kim Chi
Absolute variety of Kim Chi

Look at the amount of Kim Chi being served to us. You can refill it for free. If not mistaken, I asked for tofu 3 times!

Bulgogi uncooked
The uncooked Korean Bulgogi when it was served.

This is how the Korean Bulgogi looked when it is uncooked and served on our table. Bulgogi is one of the Korean’s most popular beef dishes. As you can see from the picture, thinly sliced sirloin is marinated with a mixture of soy sauce and mixed with sliced onions plus whole clove of garlic. Looks like minced pork, right?

Cooked bulgogi
Steamy Hot Yummylicious Bulgogi

Oh my. My saliva is dropping onto the keyboard. This is my beloved and favourite Korean dish. Bulgogi literally means “Fire Meat” in Korean.

graceeatbulgogi
This is how I eat my Bulgogi

This dish is served with a side of lettuce, which is used to wrap a slice of cooked meat, or other side dishes, and then eaten as a whole. Yes, like how I wrap my Bulgogi with the lettuce.

The Bill comes up to about RM101.20 inclusive of service charge and government tax. I think it is reasonable for all the great food that you can munch all night long.

When it comes to eating, nothing can stop me from devouring every dish which I deem as worthy and yummylicious. So tell me, any good Korean restaurants which you can recommend me to try on their Bulgogi?

Now that is when I say AMEN to good food!

Gardens in the City

4 October 2007

We are spoilt for choices when it comes to shopping in the Klang Valley. Recently we have witnessed the official opening of Pavillion in the heart of KL followed by the soft opening of The Sphinx @ Sunway Pyramid Phase 2.

Now adding on to the list of shopping hubs in this metropolis will be The Gardens @ Mid Valley where the tag line goes “It’s about You”.

Branding
The branding of The Gardens

If you happen to drive along the Federal Highway, you will definitely get to catch a glimpse of the newly opened “The Gardens” when you passed by Mid Valley Megamall. I chose not to visit Mid Valley during the weekends due to the horrific traffic jam around the mall. However, you just can’t miss this sophisticated shopping hub.

Top Floor
The top floor of The Gardens

This reminds me of KLCC. Don’t you think so?

2nd floor
The second floor of The Gardens

I must apologize for this blurry picture as it was taken by my PDA. If you do notice, Fossil is available in The Gardens as an independent store. Fossil is usually seen as a watch counter in major departmental stores, right?

Palm Spring
Why are there so many Palm trees?

I think they should rename this place “Palm Spring” instead of The Gardens. There are just so many palm trees at the ground floor. Nevertheless, it is just so comfortable in ‘The Gardens’ that people doze off on the sofas provided by the management.

Robinsons
Robinsons Departmental Store hail all the way from Singapore

Robinsons caters for the Rich Si Lai higher status market. If you do not earn at least RM10,000 a month, I suggest you do not enter this store. I tried on a dress (Coast London) in here and my jaw dropped dead when I saw the price tag smiling at me. Guess how much it is?

RM 499!! [What the fish?]

Dress from Coast London
Gosh! The dress is just SO SO Beautiful on me!

How can this cost RM499? Oh my goodness. No matter how much I love this dress, I will not fork out 500 bucks for it.

Isetan
A brand new look of Isetan

The Gardens just happens to be a upmarket shopping mall for the rich and big spenders. Fashion-chasers and for those who desire to go after materialism, you will be happy. Brands like Coach, Armani Xchange, Banana Republic, Guess, Bread & Butter, Club Monaco, CK, DKNY and et cetera have made their paths in here.

Banana Republic
Banana Republic, the subsidiary of GAP from USA

Even Banana Republic has two shoplots in The Gardens as compared to only one shop in KLCC. But it’s freaking expensive to own any apparel from Banana Republic. How can a shirt or a blouse cost a bloody RM399?? That is DAY LIGHT Robbery!

banana copy

It is like a banana telling you “Hi, I’m bred in the land of gold called Banana Republic. Thus I cost RM399!”

Anyway, just prepare a Credit Card or lots of Cash if you make a trip down to The Gardens.

Happy Shopping, dudes!

MCD’s Ramadhan Buffet

1 October 2007

Kevin and I have decided to visit McDonald’s for the Ramadhan Buffet.

McD's Wristband
The wristband that you must wear while eating the buffet

Last year, it was only RM19.90 ++per person while this year, they increased it to RM23.90++ per person. Yes, you will eat all you can except for Spicy Chicken McDeluxe and Grilled Fish Foldover is restricted to one unit per customer.

Round 1 MCD
Oh, my BIG Mouth!!

Have you ever eaten so much in your life before?

Round 2 MCD
Trying to gulp down all these food with Kevin.

After all these fatty fried food, I think I need to undergo a week of detoxification diet.

Detox with Vege
Lots of Vegetables & Fruits will be the Detox Diet

Detox Diet is a great way to slim and beautify… oops.. cleanse the toxins out from our body. Thus, after gulping so much fast food on the last weekend, I must be strict on my Detox Diet for 5 days. Anyone care to join me?

The followings are some advices from a friend who is a nutritionist:

  • Drink plenty of water. (3 Litres of water, enough ah?)
  • Eat lots of fruits & vegetables. However,  fruits like bananas, mangoes and durians must be excluded from this list!
  • No pork! NoOoOoOOOOoOOOOooooOOOOooooOOOooo, I am so going to MISS my favourite Babi ah!
  • No caffeine!! NOoOOoOoOOooOo, this means NO CHOCOLATES for the next 5 days. (Can I sneak a peek at MARS?)

I think if I were to include Kevin into this detox diet with me, I think he would have fainted by the 5th hour?
